Independent shops and online brands

The CRM for retail and e-commerce brands.

GuardenerAI for retail and e-commerce is a customer database and marketing system for shops and online brands. It keeps every customer with their loyalty tier, lifetime spend and last purchase, groups them into segments, and sends email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns and journeys. It is for independent retailers and direct-to-consumer brands that want more repeat customers without a separate marketing tool.

Your store platform knows the orders. It rarely knows the person: who your best customers are, who has gone quiet, and who said yes to WhatsApp. GuardenerAI keeps that picture in one place and turns it into campaigns that bring people back.

What this usually looks like today.

What changes

One system, doing the work with you.

One customer record, wherever they shop

Connect Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Squarespace and pull your customers in as persons, with contact details, address and email consent. Running the sync again updates them instead of creating copies.

Know who your best customers are

Loyalty tier, lifetime spend and last purchase sit on every customer record, and the Customers view lists them side by side. Pick out your VIPs and put them in a static segment for the campaigns they deserve.

Bring back the ones going quiet

Add the customers you want back to a win-back journey, and it sends, waits and splits on consent on its own, by email, SMS or WhatsApp, to everyone who has agreed to hear from you.

Abandoned carts become leads

With Shopify connected, abandoned checkouts from shoppers who are not yet customers arrive as leads, so your team can follow up while the basket is still warm.

How you set it up

Shaped around how retail and e-commerce actually work.

Start from the Retail & E-commerce starter template in Settings, then adjust anything. Everything a template adds stays editable.

From the starter template

Persons

Your customers, with a loyalty tier (VIP, Gold, Silver, Bronze) and a preferred channel (Online, In-store, Marketplace). The template adds two views: Customers, and Email-marketable customers.

  • Loyalty Tier
  • Last Purchase
  • Lifetime Spend
  • Preferred Channel
Built in

Leads

Sign-ups and abandoned carts before they buy. The template adds four lead sources: Online store, In-store signup, Loyalty program and Marketplace.

  • Status
  • Lead Source
  • Email
  • Phone

Stores

If you run more than one location, add a Stores object and a lookup on Persons so every customer has a home store you can filter by.

  • Store name
  • City
  • Manager
  • Phone
Routines to copy

The repeat work, set up once.

Each of these is built from features in the product today. Set them up once and the whole team runs them the same way.

Marketing journey

VIP welcome

  1. Starts when you add a customer to your static “VIP” segment
  2. Send a thank-you email with early access to the next drop
  3. Wait 3 days
  4. Split on WhatsApp consent: a short WhatsApp note for those who agreed, an email for everyone else
  5. Exit
Marketing journey

Win back the quiet ones

  1. Starts when you add the customers you picked from your last CSV update (the “I add them” trigger)
  2. Send an email with a reason to come back
  3. Wait 7 days
  4. Split on SMS consent and send a short reminder to those who agreed
  5. Exit
Duplicate rule

One customer, online and in store

  1. Match persons on normalised phone number
  2. Flag likely matches instead of blocking the save at the till
  3. Review flagged pairs in the duplicate queue
  4. Merge field by field, keeping the record with the richer history

Consent you can prove.

Consent is kept per channel and topic, every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and bounces, complaints and unsubscribes are suppressed before anything sends. Your customer data lives in its own isolated, encrypted space.

FAQ

Questions from teams like yours.

Which store platforms connect?
Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Squarespace, through the e-commerce module we switch on for your workspace. Customers sync one way, from your store into GuardenerAI, each time you run a sync.
Does it pull orders and lifetime spend from my store?
No. The sync brings in customers: names, email, phone, address and email consent. Lifetime spend, last purchase and loyalty tier are fields you keep up to date, usually with a regular CSV import from your store.
What happens to abandoned carts?
With Shopify connected, abandoned checkouts from shoppers who are not already customers arrive as leads. Carts from existing customers are skipped, so nobody is duplicated.
Can I send WhatsApp campaigns?
Yes. Connect WhatsApp through Twilio or Meta, build message templates in the app and track Meta’s approval status, then send campaigns or journey steps to customers who have opted in.
What happens to customers who unsubscribe in my store?
When a sync runs, a customer marked unsubscribed from email marketing in your store is marked do-not-email in GuardenerAI, and suppressed people are skipped by every campaign.
